London Or Paris
 

Hi I am leaving on Febuary 5 to Europe I will be traving for 10 days.

2 days venice
5 days Switzerland.
I still have another 3 days. Would you choose london, or paris. Would it be too much to go to london and paris?

From my researches (cause we are also going on March-April), train is 3 hrs plus time difference of 1 hour. If you have to do a return, consider at least 8 hours of travel time. So, that leaves you 1 day in London and 1 day in Paris. Where is your port of entry and where do you leave, consider that too.

Paris, hands down, and I just went to both this past summer. Paris is definitely closer as far as travel time. As JC4 pointed out, your departure city may make a difference on which one you visit.

I should say just one, Paris, because Paris gives more of a change from the USA than London does.

Choose Paris if you want to "experience" one of them. Choose London if you want to "do" more things in one of them.

Well, from the Geneva end of Switzerland, Paris is 3½ hours away (if you get the straight-through TGV), and London is within range of a day trip from Paris.

I think even a day in London is better than not seeing it at all. You aren't going to see much in depth in either place, so it's a case of "something is better than nothing."

Grab the earliest Eurostar to London; take the Original Tour (with a few brief jump-off/ons); return to Paris late.

(Even better would be to begin your tour in Venice and return from London - less travel time and expense.)

You've left out the most basic fact. Have you ever been to Paris or to London? If you've never been to Paris, for God's sake don't go there and then leave for a day to try to "see" London too. Paris is the most obvious choice for two reasons -- 1) it is closer to Switzerland and easier and 2) because it's Paris.

I suggest you visit one or the other, but not both.

I also suggest Paris because, as Patrick says, it's Paris! With only 3 days, you will have barely enough time to enjoy the major attractions, let alone experience the wonder that is Paris. It would definitely be too much to go to both London and Paris. Once you arrive in Paris, you won't want to leave.
