London or Paris
 

Can't decide between London or Paris for this October. LOVED Paris two years ago same month. Will I LOVE London as much?? <BR> <BR>HELP!!!!

Paris is quite different than London. We did Paris and London together, and found ourselves wishing we'd stayed in Paris. <BR> <BR>London has alot of history to see. It took us five days to see the museums, and we were on day trips from London for the remainder of our time there. <BR>London doesn't have the magic of Paris but then again does any city? <BR>

I've gone to both in October--London several times during that month--and London is beautiful at that time. The weather has always cooperated (though, of course, you can't count on that). Since you've seen Paris, I'd vote for London!

Undecided - why not do both?

I went to London 2 years in a row during November and I went to Paris at the end of February. I suggest you go to London just to experience the "feel" of a different European city. You shouldn't compare the two because they are different. I loved them both for different reasons.

I Love London, at any time of year but it is a completely different city, with a whole other "feel", then Paris. I feel at home in London and know my way around it better than I do the place where we live! If you have never been there , you really should try it, maybe we'll pass each other on the street, we'll be there the last week in October, too. Weather last Oct. was great, cool and dry, but who knows about this year. It doesn't really matter anyway, there is always something to do whatever the weather.

An impossible comparison, in my opinion. London reeks with history and must be judged on its own. For those willing to scratch below the surface and find the richness the city has to offer, it's a wonderful place to go. Paris is far more elegant and can be enjoyed simply for its esthetics, though obviously there's much, much more. To fully appreciate London, you should do considerable research in advance to plan the kinds of activities that you will find of interest. I've found the Original London Walks (www.walks.com) an excellent way to appreciate what the city is about and has to offer. Once you get past the usual tourist highlights, you'll be on the way to the more substantial treats that London keeps slightly below its surface. Even so, the food's a lot better in Paris.

I do wish people would stop trashing english food, if you eat in the right places you will eat as well as in Paris. Check out the new food and gourmet magazine, all are calling London the "new Paris". Very inventive, fresh ingredients and wonderful!
