You could try City Hall - see
http://www.london.gov.uk/approot/gla/city_hall/slide_show/index.jsp

There was a thread here some months ago about interesting modern buildings.

They have a website which lists the venues:

http://www.londonopenhouse.org/

Another one which has attracted a lot of attention is the Hammersmith Group Practice, which is open on Saturday only. This has been much praised, not much perhaps as strikingly unusual, rather as a clever use of a difficult site for its particular purpose (a local health centre)

Many thanks for the suggestion, I would try to visit the centre if possible.

If you are interested in architecture..or for anyone else reading this I hope you have time to visit the Sir John Soanes Museum...near St Pauls and the Inns of Court it's a facinating house design by and for John Soanes...a wonderful small charming museum full to the gills with his strange collections displayed to his specifications....Just fascinating and often overlooked by tourists.
