I saw a ticket posted with asking price of 7000GBP not bad for a 125 GBP ticket. More than 1,000,000 people applied for the 20,000 tickets

audere_est_facere Oct 5th, 2007 04:36 AM

20 million registered for the ballot.

PalenQ Oct 5th, 2007 06:39 AM

20 million?

20 million?

one out of every three Brits wanting to see Zep?

Wow what if the Beatles rematerialized - every Brit would be there - 60 million?

audere_est_facere Oct 5th, 2007 06:50 AM

20 million world wide bob.

you haven't really got to grip with this whole internet thing yet have you?

PalenQ Oct 5th, 2007 06:55 AM

So say 10 million folks would pay to fly to London just to see Zep concert?

assuming the other 10 would come from UK

Let's see if Dome holds 35,000 then Zep could hold 320 concerts in a row and sell out.

Ok i think i have this 'internets' thing (as W has called the internet) almost figured out - easy to register without really planning on going.

travel_buzzing Oct 5th, 2007 08:22 AM

- there were 20,000 tickets, tho, not 10 mill.

-how many people flew to japan/korea for the world cup? (that's football..soccer)

-i was down as a flyer-inner for the gig. but haven't heard so i think i'm out of the running. boo

audere_est_facere Oct 5th, 2007 08:31 AM

It ain't over till it's over. Those that got lucky in the ballot had 72 hours to pay up - ie until yesterday. If they don't take up the offer then there is a second ballot.

But the chances are still super small.

*Squeak*

PalenQ Oct 5th, 2007 08:51 AM

sounds like it's almost as tough a ducat to get as for the Wembley NFL spectacular - those tickets were gobbled up before they went on sale.

travel_buzzing Oct 5th, 2007 08:56 AM

lucky irish. fingers still crossed then. although it will probably bankrupt me just in time for xmas.

audere_est_facere Oct 5th, 2007 09:13 AM

They've sold half the tickets for men in tights.

PalenQ Oct 5th, 2007 09:33 AM

Well i did hear that they were having problems with security at the O2, apprently local officials are incompetent and they may have to bring in some YYanks for proper security for this seminal event.

Seems that many LBGreenwich security officials are more interested in getting free ducats to the concert than protecting it from terrorists!

Blackstone is being detached for the duty>>>>

PalenQ Oct 9th, 2007 09:05 AM

It's those White Hart Lane pies. They add a lot of bulk - provided you can get the momentum behind it.

PalenQ Oct 9th, 2007 11:37 AM

I heard they are eating crow more than anything at 'The Lane'

audere_est_facere Oct 10th, 2007 03:07 AM

We only eat bagels at the lane.

And Bob, England is a civilised country so we don't have guns. You should give it a go.

PalenQ Oct 10th, 2007 07:02 AM

we had a neighbor a few years ago from England and just after arriving here (work) he said

"What a country, you can go to Meijer (hypermarche) and buy a donut and gun at the same time"

now that's civilized!

audere_est_facere Oct 10th, 2007 07:08 AM

The only civilised thing about America is that you can rent hard core porn from DVD shops.

PatrickLondon Oct 10th, 2007 07:11 AM

>>"What a country, you can go to Meijer (hypermarche) and buy a donut and gun at the same time"<<

Wouldn't it be easier just to bake the doughnuts with the hole in, in the first place?
