London NYE - sensory overload?

Fireworks on the Thames evidently included a fragrant mist as well as flavored confetti flakes - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...-Scotland.html

It sounds awful - perhaps it was intended as crowd control?

VonVan - i've not heard any complaints about it.

it's the sort of gesture typical of the London Mayor, Boris Johnson - love him or hate him, he's a great [self] publicist.

It sounds like the seventh circle of hell.

well, bvlenci, I'm not much one for these mass firework displays either, but for those who are, it looked pretty good.

Funny - another post complaining Paris doesnt do enough, and this one about London doing too much. Guess you cant win!

I think the fireworks over the river would be splendid;
going home reeking of fruit scents would not be my cup of tea.

>>going home reeking of fruit scents would not be my cup of tea.<<

Better than some of the alternative possibilities after a couple of hours in a crowd of people who've been partying the night away.
