London November get-together?
I will be in London for a few days before and a few days after a trip to India in November, and I think it would be fun to meet up with any of the London posters for drinks and/or dinner one evening while I'm there. My husband has family in London. We will be spending time with them, and I am not sure exactly what the schedule will be. But I would like to get a sense of whether anybody in London is interested and we will see whether we can coordinate our dates.
We will arrive in London Thursday, November 1 and depart for India Monday, November 5. Then we return to London Wednesday, November 21 and fly home to Boston Monday, November 26.
Any interest?

How about Thursday, November 22 or Friday, November 23? Could people stay out later on Friday? Drinks somewhere around 6:30 or 7:00. Dinner somewhere afterwards. Somewhere so I can believe you when you say London is a great restaurant town, preferably without breaking the bank.
Alternatively, two separate occasions, one for drinks for the early folks who have to get the train back to the country, and another for the city folks who can stay out later.
What do you think?

Ah, sounds like there might have to be two occasions then. Avalon, I don't know whether you will be up to a gathering November 2. November 3 is possible, but I think I would prefer the Friday, November 2 to leave the Saturday free to get together with family. I believe we may have plans Sunday.

My plans are now up in the air. I might still be going, but it is not clear whether I will be in London for the days before going to India. So Avalon, it looks like we might not be getting together this time. And it is possible that the whole trip is off.
I will come back here when I know more. Thanks, everyone.

Nikki,
We arrive Portsmouth late on the 7th, depart on the 14th so once again I won't be able to meet three of my favorite trip report writers-- you, Jami and Bikerscott--as well as other interesting characters!
Perhaps next time, ferries are already booked, big penalties to change.
p.s. Did you cast an absentee ballot?

Do you mean the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, or the Museum of Docklands at Canary Wharf?
For the National Maritime Museum - Cutty Sark DLR or take a boat (it's near the pier)

For the Museum in Docklands, Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf and walk a bit, or DLR West India Quay and walk a bit less.

Or you can buy stuff from them online.
