London Lutron

How far is this airport from Downtown London?

Michael

I am flying from Luton on Easy Jet to Nice. After reading how to get there by making a couple of changes on the train, I called my reliable car service, Swiss Cottage Cars which charges me 25 pounds to Heathrow. They said it would be 30 pounds to Luton and we should allow an hour and 15 minutes instead of the one hour I usually allow to Heathrow.
Sorry, I can't specifically answer your question about distance, but this should give you a fair idea.

About 30 miles. Direct trains from St. Pancras and King's Cross Thameslink stations.

Hi

The problem is not only distance, but time.

Luton is on the main N-S M1 motorway.
It can be congested with commuter traffic at peak periods.

Peter
... as can the M25 and M4 motorways around Heathrow. Patrick's timne estimates are about right even in rush hour.
