It's grilled tomatoes, not steamed. I don't particularly care for them, they should have breadcrumbs with herbs on top for presentations.

Math never was my strong suit...but the point is that if there is a good breakfast that counts for more than no breakfast or a continental...and I did price a similar meal at several places. 6 pounds seemed to be the going rate. Actually at some B&Bs the tomatos were steamed, others broiled...at the Winchester they were broiled. I stand corrected all around. Sorry. Might also say that at that establishment credit cards were not accepted. I thought that would be a problem because we stayed 14 nights....that adds up to quite a lump of cash but there were many cash machines so it was OK and they didn't mind me dribbling in the money.

ccarroga - after reading your original post & "All the replies" I cannot see where you have stipulated if the B&B or hotel room is for you only, or is it a double? or what?
As you didn't mention a second person, I took it that it was for you, and thus my recommendation for B&B with LondonBB Service, for a single room @ 30 GBP. I guess it becomes a bit more confusing, when you get "so many" replies, and each person recommends a different hotel or B&B, almost to the point of informaiton overload. I would personally look at the websites given in each members recommendation, and take it from there. |
Sound advice, Tropo---I (probably wrongly) assumed CC was traveling with a companion or companions only because I haven't been fortunate enough to go anywhere by myself for the past 21 years. Sorry!

As with tropo, I prefer to stay outside of Central London. A nice B&B on a QUIET residential street - 3 min walk from the tube. Single 30 GBP, Double 44, triple 55 quad 66 for an ensuite room with breakfast. This is the total price for everyone -not per person.
85 GBP double on a noisy street? No thank you. Central London - never again. Website - serenade.ndirect.co.uk |
actually the pound has been hovering around 1.70- 1.80 for several years now - 3 or so I'd say... not sure what it is right now however.

I spent 9 nights at the Airways Hotel in Victoria. A block from the train station, and only 55 pounds for a small double. Fridge, TV, free internet, and breakfast. Lots of shops around and very handy to the tube ( which is also very easy to use). http://www.airways-hotel.com/
