London Lodging

A friend and I will be traveling to London mid-May. Any suggestions for lodging-Bed & Breakfasts seem to be a popular choice. Please forward names and locations of B&B's. Thank you.

Rick Mar 4th, 1997 05:54 PM

Amy, we're headed there in mid April ourselves and
have found a pretty good site on the net for some
B&B's: http://www.s-h-systems.co.uk/london.html
They have quite a few listed in all areas of central
London and the site allows you to visit their web pages or to fax them via e-mail. If you know what "en suite" is would you e-mail me. I'm getting no help from the travel agent. I'm almost certain it means restroom included with the room but I hate to make assumptions. Good luck and have fun! -Rick

Last time I checked, the ensuite is the washroom.

Ruth Mar 14th, 1997 03:23 PM

Yes, indeed. As you may already have found out by now, your assumption was correct. 'Ensuite' means 'with private bath facilities'.

I am going to London in early May. I found a place
that sounded great and was recommended by someone
I know that stayed there. I hope it is as good as
she says. Check it out yourself. THey sent me stuff
via e-mail and regular mail (snail mail).

Yes, you were right about en suite.
Good Luck!

Last spring, we stayed at Hart House Hotel for approx. $100 a night for two (shared bath) with breakfast. It was quiet, gleaming and spotless, and with unusually large rooms for London. It's one block from Baker St., near Portman Square and the Marble Arch Tube. The hotel is an old Georgian mansion. I'd stay there again! Good luck. If you want phone and fax#s, email me and I'll get it from my British Heritage magazine.

For Rick and Amy - "ensuite" means that the room has a private bathroom with toilet and shower, as opposed to a shared bathroom. Good luck and have fun in London - it's a fabulous city!

Hi Lucia,

I saw your message on the Hart House. If you get a chance would you mind E-Mailing some info on it. We are going to London in June & I'm looking for someplace nice & reasonable to stay.

Thanks a Million
Vickie
