cfrieday: I wouldn't bother with a car service btw Heathrow and Gatwick. There is a direct bus that links the two airports and a car service wouldn't be any faster (well maybe a tiny bit faster) because they have to use the same roads and face the same traffic.

Assuming your arriving flight is anywhere near on time you will be fine just taking the airport coach.

Cfrieday...I agree with Janis. Just Airports gave me quote of 50 pounds for a small limo from Gatwick to Heathrow one way, and 45 pounds for the Heathrow to Gatwick return trip, if I booked them round trip. I think the airport shuttle bus runs around 16 to 18 lbs per ticket and gets you there in about the same time. Good luck.

Thanks to all for this great thread. We are leaving in 2 days, using JustAirports from Stansted. I didn't know that it was cheaper to pay with cash, but we will definitely find an ATM as soon as we get off the plane now!!

Thanks for saving us some pounds!

World over cash if preferable, this way it doesn't have to be declared on one's tax return, your driver will pocket it and your journey will never have happened technically speaking.

With just airports, there's a certain amount of wait time included and it's based on the time the plane lands, so if the plane is late, the time isn't charged. I thinks it may be something like 45 minutes, but you'd have to check their website. We used them recently and had no problem (and no wait time fees) at all. Most of these services have similar rules with wait fees.

With JustAirports we requested an Estate vehicle which is a mini-van. It was the same fee as a regular sedan. There were 4 of us with 1 large, 1 medium and 2 small suitcases. It was perfectly comfortable.
