London in two days

I am traveling to London and am looking for help to figure out to get to Heathrow to the Strand Hotel. And suggestions on how I might get tickets to see the Producers last minute?? Thanks

check out justairports.com for reasonable car service. we used them in APril and would use them again. If you pay cash, you get a discount.

If you want to see the show while Nathan Lane is in the cast your best bet is to queue at the theater for returns. Each theatre sells returns the day of performance - often on a cash only basis but a few accept credit cards.

Of course, this would be after you have called the theatre directly - if your dates are flexible they might have seats available. Order over the phone and they will hold the tix at the box office for you to collect.

Try ticketmaster UK for Producer tickets.

If you cannot afford a car you could take the underground from Heathrow. Piccadilly line, change at Hammersmith to District line to Embankment. Then a shortish walk to The Strand Palace on the Strand. Or take the Heatrhrow Express to Paddington and get a taxi. If you have loads of luggage, a taxi would cost about £50.00 and a pre-booked car not a lot more.
For The Producers you could try the official half price tkts booth in Leicester Square or the unofficial ones dotted around the area. You won't get top price Saturday night but anything else they seem to be able to do but you will pay a premium. Good luck and have a great trip!

adam has some slightly incorrect info. A private car service would be LESS expensive than a taxi from LHR. A cab will run about £55 to that hotel, while a car would be less than £40 depending on which company you book.

And the Producers is one of the hottest tickets in London right now - it isn't available at the TKTS 1/2 price booth.

Sorry Janis, I got it the wrong way round. For right or wrong if someone is willing to pay out those less kosher booths around the tube station will get virtualy anything.

the tube from/to LHR is pretty efficient. you never know by car because of traffic.

We bought our theater tickets thru www.londontown.com
A friend of ours has used it many, many times with no problems.

Looking for car service as well to/from Hazlitt's in SoHo. Not wanting to "shlep" my luggage up & down stairs!!

Have a great trip.

OK - folks, LondonTown and the TKTS 1/2 price booth are really terrific -- But we are talking about The Producers. This is a very hot ticket because everyone wants to see it before Nathan Lane leaves the cast.

Most nights the onlt tix available are returns -- just go directly through the theatre for your best chance/choice. Anywhere else - IF they can get seats - you will pay a premium.
