Both groups are correct -- it will probably be cool but it might be hot on one or more days of your trip, so be prepard for both, just in case.

Since they had 2 heat waves this summer, it will probably cool down this coming week. Having said that, you are best off to be prepared for both, as Anonymous recommends, since even when it is stifling during the day, it chills down a lot at night. Also, if you leave the warm stuff behind, it will surely get cold on you. (My husband did not get to wear his leather jacket once, even in Dublin. Didn't use the umbrellas either.)

Remember, a lot of the London theaters are not air conditioned. We were there last August( mid portion of the month ) and it was very hot. We went to several shows and sweated with the best of them. At 'My Fair Lady', we were using the hand fans they gave us throughout the entire performance. At intermission, I ran up to the ice cream servers and grabbed a couple of Ben & Jerry's! Interesting that they serve Ben & Jerry's in London theaters...but that was all they offered in ice cream! it was heavenly....

Check out weatheronline.co.uk for a six day forecast before you leave - that will give you a better idea.

As per kmowatt's suggestion you could also try www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=0008 to get a feel for the weather before you leave.

The weather has been very settled here (London area) recently, only rained briefly once in the last month or so and again sunny today.
