London Hotels
My husband and I are looking for a hotel in March while visiting our daughter at Regents College. We'd like to be in a central location to both the school and public transportation as we won't be driving. We like to keep the cost between 150-200 American dollars a night. We'll be in London for only 4 nights and then the three of us will be going to Paris for 3 nights. So if anyone can help us with Paris lodging as well that would be great!

Well March is just around the corner! Here is lovely hotel in Bloomsbury - I hope it's not too late to get a booking if you decide upon it.

Hi again Hartnett,
This is a boutique-style B&B across from the Eiffel Tower. The owner is an interior designer and the rooms are beautifully furnished with antiques. She charges 150euros for a double including breakfast. You can make enquiries at: [email protected]> |
Go to WWW.londontown.com. They have excellent rates from hotels all over the city.

If you are looking for hotels near the college, the nearest tube stop is Baker Street. That general area would be fine for access both to the college and to London sightseeing. I second the suggestion for www.londontown.com. You can use the feature there which lets you choose hotels based on a landmark (for the college I think the closest landmark is Madame Tussaud's wax museum). Then check listings there against references on www.tripadvisor.com or your other favorite hotel website. (Tripadvisor also lets you check various hotel booking websites for the best deal on your chosen hotel for your dates which is also helpful.)
Also, check with the college. Many colleges have guest rooms for visitors. Even during term time. (I stayed at Kings College Cambridge that way.) It may be necessary to have your daughter check for you as such rooms may be available only for someone with an actual connection to the school. |
I recommend the Dorset Square hotel on Dorset Square ,close
to Marylebone. You could walk to Regents College. If you book early on the website,it may come within your budget. |
Londontown mentioned above is a good site -- also try laterooms.com It often has really good deals w/o going the Priceline route.
