London hotels
I will be in London Easter weekend. Only have 2 days (Friday and Saturday) to see and do everything. I will definately be going to the theater while I am there. Can someone suggest a nice hotel near the theater district...willing to spend about $300 per night. thank you

"one aldwych " looked beautiful. they have some weekend specials but it may be a bit over your budget.
www.onealdwych.com the courthouse marriot is on the great rv1 busline that takes you to covent garden, london eye, tower bridge, etc. hopefully someone can give you a few more. |
The several hotels that immediately come to mind are probably way over your budget.
Have you considered booking throuhg a discounter such as londontown.com? |
One Aldwych is pretentious and employ staff who have half a brain. A few years ago I was in the area and thought I'd try their bar instead of the American Bar at The Savoy, what a mistake. The moment I'd walked into the lobby bar a doorman offered to take my coat, only to be informed that they might not have a table for my guest and I. Why was he taking my coat? When I told him I'd wait to see if they had a table first he seemed surprised. Don't stay there.
The Savoy will probably come closer to 400USD per night with the current exchange rate. Worth a try though. As for "near the theatre district" it depends what you class as "near". I'd recommend trying The Connaught in Mayfair (only a short taxi journey from the theatres) as it's a deluxe property that frequently has good offers. |
You can get the Hilton Green Park for 99 GBP/night (a little less than $200 USD/night) for that period:

thanks for all the info. The Hilton looks very central and the price is right.
