Hope it's okay if I "piggy-back" on this post! I'm going to London for 3 days, arriving March 27, needing two en-suite rooms.
I am hoping to spend around £30 per person per night with breakfast.

I want Bloomsbury or Covent Gardens; South Kensington would be fine, too. I welcome suggestions. I don't want a ratty place.

Judy,

Although a couple of people have posted poor experiences, I was happy with the Park International. It is about 200 yards from Gloucester tube stop. 3 lines use that stop, so it is handy to all of London.

The rooms are small and not fancy. But they are clean and include hair dryer, small refrigerator, safe. I will be returning there is April, paying 35 pounds a night.

They are online and responded to emails promptly. They even have a US phone number: 800-729-1736

At the very cheap end, I don't think they can be beat.

I am planning for my first trip to London in January and have been looking for a hotel to accommodate 3 adults. I have a room tenatively held at the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel. If anyone is familiar with this hotel, I'd be interested to hear feedback. I am trying to find something between 70-75 GBP. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

txasbandit, check out tripadvisor.com. Go to the london section and do a search for Swiss Cottage Hotel. There are several positive reviews on this hotel that may be of interest to you.
