London Hotel Near Heathrow
We arrive in London at about 8:30 pm. That seems a bit late for a trip into the city.We have the following day in London, but have to fly out of Heathrow at 7:00 the next morning. That makes me feel like we should stay near the airport. I've tried the Beehive Manor, but they're booked. So is Christopher Wren's house. ( too expensive anyway). I was thinking about Windsor or Staines (I think that's the other place) Any other ideas?--or should we just book one of those big, impersonal hotels at the airport?

What about the Heathrow Express and Hilton London Paddington.

Some of the airport hotels are OK. My husband and I never go into London if we are en route somewhere although if you do its only a nice litle train trip if you stay at the Airport. They used not to charge for the airport bus but now they do. Anything is preferable to paying for London hotels and getting rubbish.

The Excelsior Hotel is the best.

Hi,
The Hilton @ Heathrow is connected by a covered walkway to Terminal 4.
There is a Mariott close by the airport and a couple of sheratons

If you are looking for inexpensive, my mother and I stayed at the Quality Inn (Could have been the comfort inn) and it was nice. It was newly renovated, and at the time (2years ago) had free shuttles. We liked it, the room was bigger, nicer, and way cheaper, than the superior hotel we had stayed at right in London...(our plane left really early so we spent that last night at the airport)

Thank you all for your help. I have booked rooms at the Excelsior--probably no charm, but reasonable, convenient, and recommended by Sandy as the best in the area.
