London Hotel in S. Kennsington or Notting Hill?

Hi, we are looking for a hotel in one of these areas (or close to) in the $150-$200 night range. Any recommendations?

Anyone familar with the Commodore?

You can probably get a decent hotel in Notting Hill or Kensington for half that on Priceline. Check out Biddingfortravel.com

Thanks AS, I was hoping that someone could recommend a place that they had stayed at and liked, there are so many shabby hotels in london!

I like the Gainsborough Hotel which is just about a 3 minute walk from the S. Kensington tube station. Have referred other people there and we all have been happy with it.

I'm sorry I haven't stayed there (rented a flat in Kensington the first time) but I've researched sooo much and spoken read thousands of reviews (literally) till I feel like I know the area well..

If you don't do the www.biddingfortravel.com/www.priceline.com option (we landed Holiday Inn Kensington Forum for $84 a night) then I would check out these hotels

www.londonlodgehotel.com

http://www.thekghotel.com/

Allandale

LunaSimone Hotel

Go to www.tripadvisor.com and read the reviews...you might find an even better deal...I had written to over 40 hotels and the four above were the friendliest and most willing to give discounts to bring it into your price range...
Good luck!

We enjoyed the Copthorne Tara, which is just near the Kensington High Street tube stop. Got it last August on Priceline for $75 a night.
