London hotel for 5 first timers
We are staying in London for 2 nights. This is our first trip and we will be touring the town seeing the typical landmarks. What part of town is a good place to stay? There are 5 of us, so I'm also finding it a bit difficult to get a big enough room\suite.
Thanks, Gary |
You can;t put 5 people in one room. The regular rooms have one double bed for 2 people. With 5 people you will have to search for a larger suite or a double and triple room.
For specifics you really need to give us a total budget per night in $ or pounds. |
Are any of your five children? If so, you might find a family room that will suit. But these are very rare, especially in city.

Thanks. I found an apartment near Kings Cross station. Will this be a good place to stay and get in and out of the tourist areas of the city?

Kings Cross is very convenient for transport -- but some owners can be a bit deceptive about the actual locations of their rentals.
Where exactly is the apartment? Maybe give us a link. |
Here's a link to the location that they sent me: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl...,0.026951&om=1

Have you seen this area on google street view? It appears to be a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross station, but it's going away from station to the less touristy areas of Kings Cross.
This part of central London is being transformed from a once notorious area 10+ years ago. But certain streets can still look a bit run down. I've no idea what the apartment is like as you don't provide that information, but I'd prefer a location closer to the Bloomsbury area, which can also be about 10 minutes from Kings Cross, but in the other direction. |
