London Hotel Choices
I will be spending one night in London with my 2 teenage children on our way to 2 weeks in France. We arrive at Heathrow at 7pm and then leave at 8pm the next night. We will be using Marriott points for our night in London.
Our Marriott choices are Grosvenor Square, Regents Park, Marble Arch and Maida Vale. We probably would want to see the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey during our stay. Could anyone please provide information on which would be the best hotel for us to choose in terms of what we want to see and getting back and forth to Heathrow? Also what would be the best way to get to London from the airport? Heathrow Express, car service, etc? Thanks for your help. I am spending more time worrying about my one night in London than in traveling all over France for 2 weeks. |
If those are the only Marriotts you can use, the properties that make the most sense are Grosvenor Sq and Marble Arch. Definitely not Maida Vale.

I've stayed at the Marriott Grosvenor Square several times and love it, both the hotel and its location. I wish I could afford stay there all the time.
Oxford Street is a zoo (but the kids will like it). For a bit of a respite, go just a little further north to Wigmore Street. Wagamama is a fun restaurant (big communal tables, pan-Asian food, mostly noodles, reasonably priced). |
Thanks. I've made our reservation at the Grosvenor. Any suggestions on the best way to get there?

Take the Heathrow Express from the airport, easy to find and frequent trains to the city. It'll stop at Piccadilly station. Catch a taxi from there to the hotel.

Actually, the Heathrow Express stops at Paddington Station.
