London Hilton

I am thinking of spending three days in London, compared to Cannes France, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good one that we can use as base camp for three days to see the city?

Michael

I totally do not understand this question. Are you asking for a coastal city in England? A hotel in London? What does "compared to Cannes" mean?

Not being critical. Just don't have a clue as to how to provide any kind of answer on this question.

Best wishes,

Rex
We were going to Cannes but have heard many bad things about that hotel, so we are know thinking of going to London, and need a recommendation for a Hilton there as our base camp.

Michael

Trying to piece this together, using info from this and your other posts. I must be dense. It has to be a Hilton, is that it? Any particular reason?

In any event, I am sure I won't be able to help you regarding a Hilton in London or any other location in England. I have never been in a Hilton in Europe, though I did once walk through the gallery of shop (to use a cybercafe) located in the base of the Geneva Hilton. It was called Biz'noz and it was my first experience using a T-1 line in a cyber cafe, so I remember it well. It was awesome.

Boy, I sure DO digress, don't I?
Michael - I am so with Rex on this one. Your posts don't make any sense.

"We were going to Cannes but have heard many bad things about that hotel" - what hotel? Do you assume there is only one hotel in Cannes?

And because you don't like a certain hotel in Cannes, you now want to stay in the London Hilton "as our base camp." Base camp for what -- London, Cannes, England?? Jumping from the south of France to London because of a single hotel is really odd.

Michael

This seems to have got off to a bad start. There are 14 Hilton Hotels in London more if you count the ones at the airports etc. The only ones I would avoid - because they are less convienient for sight seeing - are the Olympia, Wembley, Islington and Docklands. All the other central London Hiltons are in good locations and are good quality hotels. There are two new hotels -The Trafalgar which is a new brand of Hotel for Hilton very modern and designer driven in a great location to on Trafalgar Square. The other is the Paddington which opened this month but some of the facilities like the spa are not yet open.

I hope this helps.
