London Heathrow travel between terminals.
Hello.
Does anyone knows detailed instructions how to get from Terminal 5 Arrivals to Central bus station Heathrow at Tetminals 2,3? Thank you. |
Free on the Heathrow Express to T 2-3 and walk outside to the bus station
|
Somehow site with detailed directions wants me to take bus, and says it going to take 36 minutes, but vice versa it's only 13 minutes. May be I do not know something, may be it's going around circles on the way ti Terminal 2? I cannot post url

It is confusing, and not so much information about navigation between terminals. I have to figure it out how I not get lost in this transportation hub.

Yes, you can take a bus (free) -- takes about 20-25 mins. But there is the Heathrow Express train (also free) which is more frequent, faster and you catch it in the terminal building not outside at a bus stop. There are good signs in the terminal and if you get confused, you can ask any staff person who will be able to point you in the right direction. It will be easy.
|
So, it is working from 5 to Central Bus 2,3 as fast as it's working the other way? Would you suggest the Express is the best way to ravel between these two destinations?
It looks like Terminal 5 has C and B gates, and they are connected to main Terminal by train too. Customs would be at main terminal I guess, or they all have their own customs? Oh.. thanks everyone for the help. |
Customs are at each termini

Yes, I mean immigration.
So far it looks like my flight land at B34 gate, then I need to go to main 5 terminal by walking or by train to go through immigration. Then I need to board Express and go to Terminal 2,3 and then walk to Bus Station. Local B-C terminals train is probably different from Express and subway and bus. It's crazy.. ;))) |
Since you are heading to the bus station, its obvious UK is your destination (as opposed to transiting to another flight) so you will definitely go through Immigration and Customs in Terminal 5 where you land. Just follow the signs (and most of the other people on your flight who will be doing the same) then after you exit Customs if you are confused just ask anyone in a uniform (airline, airport employee, police, anyone - they wil be able to point you in the direction of the train to Terminals 2-3. The bus station is just outside T-2-3

We were posting at the same time so I didn't see your last post.
Don't assume your plane will be at any specific gate. Gates change all the time -- just follow the signs/other people |
From the Heathrow website:Free London Underground services and shuttle trains are currently available for Inter-Terminal Transfer between Heathrow Terminals 2&3 and Heathrow Terminal 5.
Please note that a Transport for London Oyster card or contactless payment mechanism is required to activate the ticket gates on London Underground services, but you won’t be charged for your journey as long as you only travel between terminals. If you are using Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line, please obtain a free Inter-Terminal Transfer ticket from one of the machines in the station for your journey. Average journey time: 20 minutes |
That's why I suggested the HEX because an Oyster isn't required. BUT - where are you headed from the bus station? That might make a difference as to which is best.
|
They still need to get a ticket from the machine for the HEX. I didn't see that mentioned in the thread which is why I added the quote from the Heathrow website.
Allow a lot of time to get through immigration and luggage collection, like many airports in Europe it can be more than a bit chaotic due to staff shortages. |
Good point about the ticket machines.
Where Anaka1400 is traveling to on the bus could change things -- with more of the Elizabeth Line operational it is 'just' possible a bus isn't the best option. |
I do not have any luggage, I am transfering to bus station to get to Luton.
It's good to know that I have to get a ticket to board the train to Trminal 2,3. I found deatailed directions to travel from 5c, 5b to 5a terminal. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...assengers.html |
