Do you know if I can store suitcases at London Airport while I go to town for four days?

Yes, there are left luggage facilities in each terminal. The one in T3 is just to the left of the ramp leading to the tube and Heathrow Express.

The left luggage the previous poster referred to is very good. We used it earlier this year. It's a staffed facility, so you can store any size case. Cost is $5 per case per day. They will even shrink wrap your case for you for a few dolloars.
