London Heathrow
any recommendations for a good hotel near heathrow airport for one night? for an early flight home.
thanks |
For LHR - I always try to use priceline. All the 3 & 4 star places are acceptable and it really doesn't matter to me since all are on the Hoppa route. I've never paid more than $62 for a 4 star at LHR, and usually $40-$50.

There is a Yotel www.yotel.com inside Heathrow but check which terminal it's in and which terminal you fly out of, as you may have to allow time to transfer. To check how to transfer, look at the Heathrow Airport website, it also has accommodation info.
The Yotel is like a pod hotel, we stayed at the one at Gatwick and thought it was fine, extremely convenient location, fairly small room but everything we needed. You can book any amount of time from 4 hours and up, if you stay a full night it may not be that cheap but you don't have to pay for the Hoppa bus or wait for it either. Kay |
Check Hotwire. Last time in your situation, i stayed at the Crowe Plaza London Heathrow, a perfect place with large room, for $55. There are the Heathrow busses that stop there (and other airport hotels)and get you to the terminal you need (for a fee).

I wouldn't use the yotel for overnight. They charge by the hour and would be fine for a 2 or 3 hour nap/freshen up on a layover. But for an overnight you'd pay twice what a 4 star would fetch on priceline or hotwire. And it would just be a pod vs a full sized hotel room.
