London GTG May 19-25

We will be in London from the 19th through the 25th if anyone is interested in getting together. We are staying near Earl's Court but have oyster card will travel. Ta!

OReilly Apr 8th, 2017 07:21 AM

I should be able to make it :)

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 8th, 2017 05:24 PM

Great! Let's give it a few days to see if there are others interested and then we can make plans.

Sorry we miss you by a few weeks. Seems like lots of fodorites are in GB this spring.

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 9th, 2017 01:51 PM

Taking advantage of the lower exchange rate I'll bet. Better than the 1.50 plus from a couple of years ago.

Last time I looked at going to London it was 2 to 1, so it seems a real bargain now.

I just saw that Pippa Middleton is getting married on May 20th, in Englefield (?). That should make being in London fun!

PatrickLondon Apr 10th, 2017 10:42 PM

That's out in the country. No-one in London will notice, unless you pick up one of the celebrity gossip magazines or tabloids after the event.

sparkchaser Apr 10th, 2017 11:35 PM

Will Janet be there? If not, I can't be bothered.

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 13th, 2017 03:04 AM

Ger, looks like it will just be us. The only days I have things planned are Sun May 21 and Wed May 23. What works for you? Have Oyster Card will travel!

sparkchaser, thanks a lot! :(

AGM_Cape_Cod May 9th, 2017 03:12 AM

Looking forward to this trip. Anyone else interested? Ger are you still interested? My email is atmenard at gmail if so.

sparkchaser May 10th, 2017 05:22 AM

I already have plans for that weekend :(

AGM_Cape_Cod May 10th, 2017 07:46 AM

Sorry that we won't be able to meet.

OReilly May 13th, 2017 06:51 AM

Yes, still on. Fridays evenings are always good for me, as I can be called away during the week. This time, it might be Birmingham.

Let us pencil it in Friday 19th May, and I will let you know if there are any change of plans?

Regards Ger

AGM_Cape_Cod May 14th, 2017 12:51 AM

Sorry we have plans for Friday evening and Sunday mid day. Are you available any other time?

OReilly May 14th, 2017 05:04 AM

Monday 22nd?

AGM_Cape_Cod May 14th, 2017 10:32 AM

Free and clear. What works for you?

Would you like to try this place?

It has good wine, and if we get peckish, we can have some French tapas. If the weather is good, we can sit outside.

I was there with my niece and friends. I really liked it, and it will give you the opportunity to come South of the river. Beforehand, you can visit the Tate Modern, the Shard, the Globe theater, Tower Bridge.....

Regards Ger

Here are some suggestions about walking around this un-glamorous part of London. BTW, Borough Market will be mostly closed on Monday.

Best regards ... Ger
