London: Greenwich to Eltham?

My older son really likes Art Nouveau, so we would like to visit Eltham house while in London in June. Would it be convenient to combine this with a trip to Greenwich?

We are actually staying in Richmond, but plan to have a travel card to cover bus and tube. I think we can take the Docklands railway to Greenwich, spend some time there, and then travel to Eltham, since they seem to be somewhat in the same vicinity. Does anyone have any advice on how to get from one to the other?

Thanks in advance,
Marita

Hi

I used to live in Eltham, and drive to London, via Greenwich every day.

I'm sure you can do this by bus, but it is a mystery to me which bus to take !

Peter
Rather than the tube and DLR, I think that train from Richmond to Waterloo, short walk to Waterloo East and train to Greenwich might be faster and more comfortable. Bus 286 goes between Greenwich and Eltham. See http://www.transportforlondon.gov.uk/buses/
Hopefully Ben Haines will confirm or give the correct answer.
Thanks.

Is there a train or tube back from Eltham?

Marita

I live in Greenwich and the fastist way to get there is by train from Waterloo or Charing cross stations, it will take about 15 minutes to Greenwich. DLR is much slower. Eltham is a bus ride from Greenwich (sorry dont know which, just look on the bus area map at Greenwich station). To get back from Eltham again take the train to Charing Cross. Sorry Greenwich and Eltham are not on the Tube.
I hope that this helps.

Gareth
