London/Gloucester Rd./ Hotel
I am looking for a small hotel within walking distance from either the Gloucester tube station or other close to the Piccadilly line. I need to take the tube very early on the day of departure from Heathrow and prefer not to make a transfer.
|
Sorry, I meant to Heathrow, not from Heathrow
|
They're not small hotels, but the Millenium Bailey and Millenium Gloucester hotels are just across the street from the tube station.

We stayed at the Henley House Hotel in Earls Court which is a fairly basic hotel with a nice continental breakfast. It's about 5 min walk from the Earls Court tube station which is on the Picadilly Line. There are lots of small hotels in the area.
Another idea would be to stay much closer to Heathrow. We stayed at the Jurys Inn at Hatton Cross which is a 5 min walk to Hatton Cross tube, which is one stop from Heathrow. The only thing to be aware of is there is nothing around the Jurys Inn, no shops, no restaurants, no nothing. In Earls Court, there are loads of places to eat, little supermarkets etc. Kay |
We stayed at the Park International, 117-125 Cromwell Road, Phone: 011-44-207-370-5711 on a Priceline bid last October. I did a trip report with Park International in the title because when I asked here about it, some other people indicated an interest.
The hotel is I believe three blocks from the Gloucester Road tube stop. I think you can click on my name and pull up the report. |
I stayed at the Park International Hotel. The location as far as the tube is great. The hotel isnt IMO. I am afraid it is on my list of never agains.

We've stayed at Millennium Baileys 5 or 6 times...but the prices are escalating faster than my income! If you can get a good deal it's great.
Check for deals at the Rembrandt, it's S. Ken station on the same line. You might try and see what the rates are at the Cranley House Hotel, about a 5 minute walk from Gloucester Rd tube. I just noticed who this post was from!!! Hi !!! I think J. stayed at Cranley Gardens before. |
rogeruktm,
You mentioned about taking the tube "very early"... FYI, the first Piccadilly Line out of Heathrow leaves at 05:17. FROM Gloucester Rd to Heathrow, the first train leaves 05:54, arriving Heathrow around 06:34. Tube starts running a bit later on Sundays. |
Hey, trainman:
There are two Holiday Inn's right at the Gloucester line. One is the former Forum, the other is right across the street from the tube stop. We've never used it, but the Montana Hotel is also right across the street and mucho cheapo, so you might check it out if you are traveling alone. I know they refurbished a couple of years ago. |
The Montana Hotel (referred to above) is one of the worst places we have stayed at in London and would never go back. Rude man on reception, tiny room and poor facilities.
