London Flea Markets- & what days?
 

I'll be in London from 11 June- 19th.
Does anyone know of any GOOD flea markets- and what days are best to go?

People will recommend The Portobello Rd., and Camden Town "flea" markets. These aren't bad. Alfies antique market, Church St NW8 is better in as much as it has more quality (not top end) items. However, you're better off searching ebay if you're after a bargain - lots of people have little idea of what they're selling and you can find a steal.

Portobello Road is fun although we found most of the merchandise to be cheap stuff manufactured to be sold cheap. This is NOT your basic garage sale on steroids.

Camden market is wild, lots of clothes for young pierced, tatooed, green-haired, rocker types. someone told me if you are looking for clothes you might want to look at pettycoat lane.

There is also a car boot sale at St. Augustine School in Kilburn Park every Saturday 11 AM - 3 PM. Admission is 40p and it's very close to the Kilburn Park tube station (Bakerloo line - zone 2.) We went last February and it was a lot of fun.

Depends what you're hoping to find.

Bermondsey market EARLY on a Friday is said to be the place for antiques.

Petticoat Lane isn't that special for clothing - it's an old-established tradition, but what's on offer is run-of-the-mill, if cheap. It's also nearby to Spitalfields market for arts, crafts and some bric-a-brac, and Brick Lane market which gets tattier and tattier the further you go. They're all on a Sunday.

Camden Lock (open all week, but far more stalls on a weekend) for street fashion, and there are some furniture and bric-a-brac stalls and shops by the canal itself.
