London flat rental recommendation
 

I just returned from a week in London and wanted to strongly recommend www.londonconnection.com for flat rental. My family rented a lovely 3 bedroom 2 bath flat in Sloane Square. We arranged to be met at Heathrow by a driver and when we arrived at the house the representative from London Connection was waiting for us. She explained everything about the nuts and bolts of the house and a very helpful manual on all appliances was also provided. London Connection is based in Utah and the charge was very reasonable ($250/night). It was in dollars so we didn't have to worry about currency fluctuations. Sloane Square is a great area--there is a tube stop on the Circle and District lines and several major bus routes can be easily picked up.

Thank you; we have just decided to go to London for 5 days in October and we like to have a separate sleeping area for our 5-year old (something I am beginning to find is more difficult in London than in the U.S.); this may be the way to go; the quote they gave me for 4 nights was more like $400 but I will e-mail them.

any suggestions on hotels from others would be welcome.

SBSJSF--they did send me some $250 options which look promising (very prompt!); one question--how much cleaning did you have to do upon check-out (lately when I've been renting beach houses I pay for the cleaning service so I don't have to deal with it); just wondered how much you needed to clean.

This sounds very much like the place we rented in the London Square area in June. The "company" met us at Heathrow, drove us there, etc. However, we rented from a London company. They actually manage the properties, and often companies in the US go through them (charging an additional fee, of course). We had the option of paying in Dollars or Pounds. The Flat was fabulous. It was in an old stone victorian building, and our flat was the corner flat with excellent views. The Flat was huge, very nicely decorated, nice kitchen, 2 bedrooms - 1 huge, 2 bathrooms, 1 shower/tub, elevator, etc. They did the cleaning. They even showed us how to set up an account with the telephone company so all our calls to the US would be charged to our credit card. The calls were quite cheap (we spend 2 months in Europe every year)

It rented for 142 Pounds per night and it's the 61 Cadogan Gardens property - Flat 5. Chex Vous in the US charged 50% more for this exact same property.

We just picked up after ourselves. We didn't vacuum, scrub sinks, empty trash, etc. The rental fee included a professional cleaning service which came in as we were leaving and they thoroughly cleaned everything. The flat was immaculate when we arrived and the cleaning service made sure that the next tenants would have the same experience.
