London - First night

We will be arriving in London and seeing Buckingham palace and the London eye.
We are staying in a flat between Harrods and Buckingham palace. We are taking the last tour 3:15 of Buckingham palace.
Where and what time should we have dinner ?
Should I book the London Eye right after the Palace or wait until dark?
Thanks
Melissa

Would totally stop for dinner after the Palace and catch your breath. Do the Eye closer to sunset/dusk (check www.timeanddate.com for sunset time). It's fun to walk along the South Bank if you have time before your ride on the Eye.

I checked and found out that sunset is 8:21. So I will ook an 8pm ride
where should we eat?

This being your first day in London I would think you will be fairly exhausted come evening considering you arrive and then go sightseeing and have the London Eye at sunset. Everyone is different but I'd be looking for sandwiches/pizza or something like that - save dining for when you are "fully awake" :-) and can enjoy it.

We've never booked the London Eye ahead and have never had a problem in 3 different "rides". If the weather is bad and you've booked you are stuck.

For light or regular meals, the eating places in nearby (next to London Eye) South Bank Centre has good choices. Or you could try The Cut (street name) next to Waterloo Station, there are some good pubs. All within short walk of London Eye.

But I think many Londoners on Forum could advise you better.
