London Experts..Need advice on this rental please

I am looking for a 3 bedroom 2 bath rental in London for 10 days in November. I have narrowed my choice down and need some advice on this rental The size seems to fit our needs (5 adults) but not sure of the area and ease of transportation. The street is called Hormead.

Has anyone stayed here before or know the area?

Thanks for the help

To call that Kensington & Chelsea is pretty deceptive. (Yes, it is in the Borough) - it is in Westbourne Green just off the Harrow Road. I've driven in the area on the Westway/A40 but haven't been in any of the residential streets.

The flat does look nice -- but it is not in a very convenient location. Two tube lines serve Westbourne Park so you can get anywhere -- but it will take you quite a long time w/ line change(s) to get most places.

Our resident London copper is on sort of a time out from Fodors so he can't advise you about the specific neighborhood. But maybe one of the other London-based folks will know more . . .

I don't know the area very well. This is a sort of enclave, where the other side of the Harrow Road is posh to very posh, and from the other side of the canal to the Westway is, I suspect, the less well-favoured end of North Kensington/Notting Hill. Sorry that's not much help.

That street is close to Portobello Road with the popular market. It's an easy walk to the tube but it might be worth checking if there are any closures on that line on the dates you are there. Go to www.tfl.gov.uk and put your dates in where it says Live Travel News. The planned engineering is normally only at weekends but whole tube lines can be closed.

I think the area would be mainly residential though there are some nice shops and restaurants in Notting Hill which is close by. You could also walk along the canal path all the way to Regents Park, through the area called Little Venice. I think it sounds like a good area though not close to any of the usual tourst attractions and a bit off the beaten path for the typical tourist. (We live here and I'd go for it but don't personally know the street or nearby areas.)

Thanks for the replies. My other options are in Camden and Camden Locks. I might look a little further before I sign the contract.

If anyone has a suggestion please let me know. We definitely need a 3 bedroom and 3 bath.

I did mean 3 bed 2 bath. That's what happens when you sneak onto Fodor's at work and try to post a quick message.
