London early December

Will be visiting London early December. Interested in any information from travelers who have attended Christmas concerts, markets, etc., that were memorable.

Hyde Park has a German Christmas market with tasty sausages and carnival-rides for kids (if you have them).

Ice skating at the Tower of London.

Harrod's at Christmas is a specatacle.

St Martins in the Fields (church) at Trafalgar Square has a series of Christmas concerts. We went to a jazz concert there that was held in the crypt, where there is a good cafe. Great night.

Check their website for details.

One word - Pantomime.

You certainly won't forget it and you won't see it anywhere else.

Pretty much every local theatre will have one on (Huggy Bear - yes the real Huggy Bear - is in my local one)

" . . . . and you won't see it anywhere else. " Actually even in my small California backwater we are having a Cinderella Panto this year (not quite as good as in England but a semi-decent edition . . . .

bonvoyage70: Yes, you definitely want to see a Pantomime for sure (not what most in the States would think the word means -- yes, they do talk :) )
