London Dungeon
Has anyone been to the London Dungeon? Worth the trip? Will it scare me to death???
|
Might annoy you rather than scare you. Check out the extensive exhibit details on their web site. Personally, it's beyond me why someone would want to spend any of their precious time in London on this trash when so much wonderful stuff is waiting.

Not really for adults. But if you have kids, teenagers, they will like it.
|
Depends on the teens. When we went last summer, my teens (boy age 13 and girl age 15) decided against it after looking through the site.

I'm 27 and I thoroughly enjoyed the London Dungeon. It's fascinating to see the torture tactics used back in the day. I saw more adults there than kids.

Betty: To experience the full spectrum of disdain for the Dungeon, just do a quickie search on the subject on the forum.<BR><BR>Many of us "had" to do the Dungeon when we allowed our kiddies to take over part the trip planning. In some backwater part of the world, it's possible it could be considered a cultural highlight. When one thinks of all that London has to offer, what a waste of time.<BR><BR>I don't know if it will scare you to death--I spent most of the time thinking<BR>about how many pounds I had spent on admission.<BR><BR>Still the experience had its uses: whenever my kids say "Why don't you trust my judgment?", my husband and I respond in unison, "London Dungeon."<BR>

Thank you Amy. Actually, we have some wonderful things planned for London. We are going to plays, Buckingham Palace, Althorp, Harrods, Windsor Castle, etc. etc. etc. We just had about 2 hours that we could do something "off the beaten path" and wondered if the London Dungeon would fill that gap. But I think we Will find something else.

When you compare the cost of admission to what you get, you bet, you'll be scared to death that you're that easily taken. My daughter called it the Disneyland of Death...which was cute, but not really on the money. Whatever one hears about Disneyland, I don't think I've ever heard it described as "boring"...
