London day trip report
Day-tripped into London yesterday. It poured most of the time I was there. I attended a great concert at Wigimore Hall and had nice sweet sherry afterward. I then went to National Gallery to see the Renoir exhibition (amazing) and a few rooms of the permanent collection. I then did the WWII-current rooms of the Portrait Gallery (I loved the Blair at War room) and then had an early dinner at Browns (fixed-price menu of the endive salad and fishcakes for 10.95) before heading back to Oxford in time to see Spiderman 3 with a friend.

Hi Joe
I'm enjoying your trip reports from around Europe. How long are you staying in England for? If you venture west from Oxford in the Cheltenham/Cirencester/Gloucester direction, I could meet you for a mini GTG! |
How long will the Renoir exhibition be there, do you know?
|
It's on until 5/20/07
The Voyagers to Britain at the Portrait Gallery is also very interesting and on until sometime in June |
Heck, I'll miss it. Thanks, Jody. I'd have loved to have seen that.
|
I'm in the UK until August 10. Am hoping to see the Monet exhibition at the Royal Academy soon and will post on that.

I think it's quite amusing to see:
Wigmore Hall National Gallery Portrait Gallery Spiderman 3 all done in the same day. :) |
Well at least it wasn't Borat. That would really have gone from high to low brow. I actually quite enjoyed Spiderman.
