patrick...i agreed with CW. that doesn't happen every day. why do you always have to look at the negative side of things?

Me always being negative? Kindly identify something positive in your last post (or indeed any you've made over the last few weeks).

But do admit.

There is a certain - well, something or other - about listening to a whinger whingeing how she's too much of a tosser to do anything about whatever it is she's whingeing about.

hi cherikm

thank you so much for starting this thread - it gave me lots of laughs.

<<Our massive switchoff is essentially about giving people time to spend with their familes.>>

and leads to the queues at the divorce lawyers' offices in the NEw Year, if previous years are anything to go by.

assuming that christmas doesn't have that unfortunate effect upon you, while you are in covent garden, you might like a look in ST. Paul's church [right on the piazza] - it's very pretty and full of memorials to theatre types - from ellen terry to Charlie Chaplin. i went to a carol service there a week ago [they do let me leave cornwall occasionally] and in the quieter moments, it was fun to spot the relics on the walls.

have a great trip,

regards, ann
