London - Change of euros into ponds

We are going to London next week. Please suggest which is cheaper - to change euros into ponds in Italy itself or to do the same after reaching London.

It's almost always cheaper to sell foreign currency than to buy it, i.e., changing euros to pounds in Britain, or pounds to euros in the eurozone.

But it will almost always be cheapest to use your own bank card to draw pounds straight out of an ATM. Check with your own bank, or see if your ATM card has a Cirrus symbol on the back.

Assuming you mean changing Euro into Pounds, wait until you reach London.

Since you are visiting both the euro zone and the UK -- what you want to do is not end up w/ too many or any € left over when you fly out of Italy. Don't get more cash than you'll need out of ATM machines in Italy. Then when you land in London - get £ out of ATMs there.

If you convert to € and then convert those € to £ -- you lose double on the exchanges.

Are you Italian or other European? If so, wait until you get to London and withdraw them from an ATM using your bank card.

If by chance you're an American going first to Italy, then try to make sure you don't have lots of euros left over when leaving Italy, because each time you exchange currency, you lose $$. Just get euros from the ATMs in Italy, then pounds from ATMs in London.

Changing ponds is way more complicated.

I'd be using ATMs in both countries, and would adjust my withdrawals. Otherwise, find a cambio and get rid of extras.

You need 100 pees to make a pond. Before 1971 you needed 240 pees to make a pond. So I suppose ponds are getting smaller. Global warming probably.
