London/Brighton Best Sunday Roast

Coming back in the summer, and have three years of Sunday lunches to catch up on.

Best recommendations please.

You could try the Idle Hour in Barnes
http://www.theidlehour.co.uk/

The roast comes to the table with roast spuds and veg. and you carve it yourself.

Here's a link to LondonTown's recommendations for the best Sunday Lunch:

TimeOut did a feature "Sunday Roast with the Most", but I can't get past the first page (maybe subscription required?):

Between Gatwick flights last year we stayed at the Old Tollgate in Bramber, a very attractive village a few miles outside Brighton - http://www.oldtollgatehotel.com/. They have a carvery-type operation with several different roasts (and other mains) on offer. Prices were okay and the place was packed, if that's any indication.

I too have wondered about this question in regards to London.

When Sunday Roast is talked about, does that just mean beef/lamb or does it also include chicken?

Anna, there aren't set rules, it depends on the establishment. It could mean beef, lamb, pork, chicken or any other roast meat the landlord has a fancy for. Equally it could change week by week.
