London: best time to go?
Am thinking about March, August or October. When is the best weather and best time to get good deals? Thanks.

Well - first off, eliminate August. Very, VERY crowded, almost no airfare bargains, and it can be hot (yes) and muggy.

March and October are about equal - cheaper airfares in March, likely better weather in October. But other than August there is no bad time to go to London.

August can be good - if you are from the south you may find it too cold in October or March, although be prepared for crowds and added expense in August.

Rose
I was there in the Beginning of October this year. Temps in the high 60's, clouds, no rain. Crowds were minimal though both flights were full. Airfare was pretty cheap too!

From reading this board I was surprised to learn that many hotels in London do not have air condition. This is something to keep in mind if you decide to book for August!!

London in August is beautiful! Flowers, green leafy trees, blue skies and long, long days (at least that's what I experienced.) The trade-off is massive crowds of tourists (most Europeans take the whole month of August for their vacation and they seem to go London) and high airfare and hotel rates. The temperatures can reach the 90's and many buildings in London do not have air conditioning. If I can afford 2 weeks in London in August I would not let the crowds deter me. R-
TransAtlantic airfares are at their lowest right after NewYears till March 31,typically and historically. In most cases, the fares for this period have already been announced, and many must be purchased by the end of the first weekn in December.Once they are gone, they are gone. But chances are very good that there will be many specials this winter in light of the fact that both American and United are having serious financial situations. If traffic is down, fares tend to be low too.As always, anything can and probably will happen.
Rocky
