London Architecture Week June 16 - 25, 2006

In perusing available tickets at the uk site for www.lastminutetickets.org.uk, I found out that London will be having an architecture week June 16 - 25, 2006.

Walking and biking tours will be given during the week, relating to some aspect of London's architecture. There is also a bike ride to watch the sunrise from Primrose Hill that ends with breakfast at the Globe Theatre. Some of the tours will include access to building interiors. The website is www.londonbiennale.org.uk. The architecture firm of Feilden Clegg Bradley has details of the bike tours listed on their web site also. A couple of the tours I was looking at are priced at 7 GBP.

I always like to look for unusual events when I travel, so I thought this looked intriguing. I don't have any first-hand experience here, so this isn't a recommendation. But I thought I'd post the info, in case anyone else might be interested.

Thanks and that includes some of the time we'll be there. But does a sunrise bike ride mean I have to get up in the dark? Really? I'll have to think about that one.

I was wondering about that one too. The times listed are 0230 to 0900 (can that be right?) It's called "Midsummer's Day bike ride". On June 21st. I'd definitely send them an email to confirm this one!

Oh thank goodness. That's the day we arrive -- too late to do that bike ride. Too bad.

That's an amazing list of events by the way. I think the outdoor toilet exhibit sounds fascinating.

The toilet exhibits are a tongue-in-cheek protest against the lack of public toilet facilities in London. Pretty funny.
