We are looking to book the Somerset QueensGate Gardens(formerly cequers of kensington) for 300 USD a night for 4 people in one room Hows that sound I was hoping for somthing cheaper but cant find much. Any suggestions?

You could get 2 hotel rooms for that price, if you don't need kitchen facilities.
What time of year are you going? Would you be using the kitchen or eating in restaurants?
People on here seem to get good deals for London hotels by using Priceline....

Have you looked at the Scala House? <b>www.scala-house.co.uk</b> It's not luxury accommodations, but they are clean, well located and a good value for London. It is very close to the Goodge Street tube. We stayed there a few years ago. The apartments are good-sized. The decor is a bit outdated, but it's a clean, comfortable place to stay.

If you're looking for something a little more upscale, I have also stayed at and can recommend the Dolphin Square Hotel (all suites hotel in Westminster) <b>www.dolphinsquarehotel.co.uk</b> or the Allen House <b>www.allenhouse.co.uk</b> in Kensington.

I would like to use priceline but it says room rates based on double occupancy. So that probably wouldnt work right? Are the apartments good deal for nice place? I am gathering not really. Am I correct. We want to say in a nice place 2 adults, 2 kids under 300 usd a night.

You could use Priceline but would need to get two rooms.

Personally I don't think that is a good price. Why do you want a flat? For more room? For the Kitchen? For all 4 of you together? If you don't need the kitchen then get two rooms at Priceline for the price you're paying for the flat. You can request an adjoining room. You'll have more room, someone makes your bed (which probably is not going to happen in the flat)and cleans the rooms everyday and with an adjoining room you'll all be together.
If you are just looking for a cheap flat try Orfali house in Bayswater or Baker Street - cheap, basic flat nothing fancy.

This is just amazing to me. If msett was looking at hotels for this group of 4, invariably someone would suggest renting a flat for more space, kitchen etc. I think it <i>is</i> a good idea and I don't think 300 <b>dollars</b> is a bad price if the place is nice (don't know anything about it). I wonder what &quot;4 people in one room&quot; means though? Are you saying it's a studio apt. (then 300 is too much) or only one <i>bedroom</i>?

I do know there are a number of apts. at QueensGate. Have you checked tripadvisor.com for reviews?

You've been given a bunch of other options here. I know that Dolphin Square has the benefits of a hotel (daily maid, breakfast included, a front desk for help etc.), an indoor swimming pool which the kids might like and apt. type accomodation but maybe your place does too.

I checked and there are good reviews for Somerset on tripadvisor and the location looks very good. It does also have the amenities that Dolphin Square has so maybe Dolphin Square is cheaper?? I do think you'd be happier with either a larger apt (ie bedroom and sitting room) or 2 rooms. They do have &quot;suites&quot; but the websites say this has to be booked directly with Somerset.

I stayed at the Somerset Queen's Gate Gardens in March and I'm one of the reviewers on trip advisor. We had 3 people in a one bedroom and we paid either &pound;81 or &pound;91/nt. I don't remember which. 6 days/week maid service and continental breakfast. Did you sign up on their web site to become a member?(this is free)They give you a discount if you're a &quot;registered member&quot;.
We couldn't have been happier with the flat. Plenty of room, we brought back food and wine some nights, made coffee in the morning and our apt. #107 had a balcony that overlooked Cromwell Rd. Have fun no matter what you choose.

matt, Queen's Gate is in a good location in S. Kensington. There's lots of restaurants around and you're close to convenient tube station. S. Ken is a pricier area than other parts of London but I always prefer to stay there.
Tudorprincess has some good info in her post. Maybe you can get a better price than what you've been quoted? Also, continental breakfast being included makes a pretty significant difference to the overall budget.

Try the British Airways vacation site. They do rent this place, too. We got a really good deal back in June. They have an offer for their studio/1 BR, syat 4 nights, pay for 3, which is about 150 GBP/night for end of Augusr/beginning Sept. The website is www.baholidays.com
We also stayed at the Marriott County Hall, code E88 or E8 (for about 100 GBP incl. taxes and breakfast buffet; book via the Marriott site.

We booked the Millenium Baileys for 90 a night per room USD. Only 180 a night for 2 rooms. We will like it there? Its a 4 star hotel. Did we get a good rate?

I usually recommend flats for stays of more than 2 or 3 nights because of all the extra space and because they are a BARGAIN. This is not a bargain -- almost &pound;1200 a week - yikes. And for just a 1- bedroom flat - that is nuts.

I normally pay between &pound;600 and &pound;800 per week (approx $150 to $215 per night) for a TWO bedroom flat, and about &pound;550 to &pound;600 for a 1-bdrm large enough for 4 adults.

$300 per night is too much unless it is a very posh apartment/address.

Yes, a good rate and a very convenient location.

That's for the Millennium Bailey. It's less than one block from the Gloucester Road tube station, on the Piccadilly Line, making it easy to go to and from Heathrow by tube should you want to do so. It's also very convenient to all tourist sites, there is a very good Sainsbury supermarket nearby, and also relatively inexpensive, pretty good restaurants.
