London and the Cotswolds

I have been slow to post a trip report about my rainy stay in London and the Cotswolds, but I have reviewed the three properties at which I stayed. The reviews are on Trip Advisor.
a. B and B Belgravia. 99 pounds per night, inclusive of VAT. Breakfast included in the rate was a cooked breakfast with standard continental offerings as well. Coffee, tea and bottled water available all day. The location is about two blocks from Victoria Station at 66 Ebury St.
My room was at the top of about six levels of stairs. I am fit and this was fine for me, but with luggage it was a little challenging. Bath was ensuite, with a tub and shower. Bed was comfortable. I would caution that the room was fairly hot despite the fact that the weather was generally cool.

b. Windrush House bed and breakfast, Broadway. 75 pounds per night, inclusive of VAT, welcome coffee service and breakfast. Breakfast is individually prepared and was quite good. The location is a five minute walk from the Cotswold Way and central Broadway. The room was large and very comfortable. The biggest challenge is getting there on public transportation, details noted in my reviews. While it can be done without a car, I would not try it again.

c. Windfalls Boutique Hotel Crawley. 120 pounds per night and worth every cent of it. The house is gorgeous, the rooms are as depicted on the website, and the manager is a charmer. However, it offers no advantage in time or cost to stay close to the airport unless you are driving. Public transportation from Victoria would take about the same amount of time as my cab ride did and cost differential was insignificant.

I will post more as time allows, but the bottom line is the weather played havoc with my plan to spend most days walking. It rained, hailed and stormed a good deal of the time. Fortunately the pubs were warm and dry!
