London and Oxford photos

I returned this week from a trip to London and then to Portugal. First a few pictures from London, including Borough Market and Portobello Road market. Then some from Oxford.

Thanks for the nice comments.

The street piano was part of the Street Pianos Project. Thirty pianos located around London for three weeks with signs saying, "Play Me, I'm Yours". This one was near our apartment in Notting Hill. The artist who created this concept says it is about democratizing art. There have been such installations in a few UK cities as well as Australia and Brazil.

When you took the photo of Henry Liddell's statue did you realise he was the father of Alice as in Alice in Wonderland?

Outstanding! Planning a trip for June 2010 so I'm loving your photos. Any chance of a trip report? Info on your apt? Did you already post that somewhere? thanks.

Trip report will take a little longer, I'm doing the photos first. The apartment was rented through an agency called A Place Like Home.

Liked it very much.

The flat looks great. As always, loved your market photos. Those of Oxford reminded me of an excellent guided walking tour I took years ago. Thanks!

I'm trying to develop a wilderness esthetic for markets- take only photographs, leave only footprints.

It isn't working as well as I'd like.

Meant to say a wilderness ethic, not esthetic.

My kingdom for an edit function.
