I'm planning to go to London and Edinburgh for summer. Here is my itinerary:

4-Jul-15 : Tate Modern (Modern Art Gallery)

5-Jul-15 : Tower of London
Tower Bridge

6-Jul-15 : London Eye.
London Dungeon

7-Jul-15 : Big Ben and Houses of parliament.
Westminster Abbey

8-Jul-15 : St. Pauls Cathedral.
National Gallery - Trafalgar square

9-Jul-15 : Hampton Court Palace.

10-Jul-15 : Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath Day Trip Tour.

11-Jul-15 : Windsor Castle.

12-Jul-15 : Taking Train to Edinburgh around 10 am - Estimate time 4 1/2 hours.
Wander around Royal Mile

13-Jul-15 : Edinburgh Castle.
St Giles Cathedral
Palace of Holyroodhouse
Check time for sunset at Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat

14-Jul-15 : Scott Monument (287 steps).
The People's Story

15-Jul-15 : The Georgian House at No. 7 Charlotte Square.
Gladstone's Land
Murder and Mystery Walking Tour of Edinburgh

16-Jul-15 : National Galleries of Scotland.
A Walk from Charlotte Square to Stockbridge
Dean Village

17-Jul-15 : Take train from Edinburgh to London

I have some questions:

1) How's the plan?

2) Where should I stay in London? I like 2 places but I don't know whether it fit in my itinerary.

or I should split the time?

3) Any advice regarding public transport?
