London & Cotswold or Prague & Amsterdam

We are planning a 9-10 day trip at the end of September 2014 for our first anniversary ( travel included) . We are debating possibly Amsterdam for a couple nights then London and on to the Cotswolds OR Prague maybe stop in Germany then on to Amsterdam. We are 37/38. We love to explore local pubs, food /drink, architecture and maybe a few museums. I love quaint towns and local foods. Although we want to see some of the touristy sights , we would like to really see the "locals" side. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming that the title is correct - since reading the details has confused me about how many places you are trying to go to.

I would do London and a couple of days in the Cotswolds - but that's assuming you haven't been there. If you have done London already I would tend to head for amsterdam and prague - which is plenty for the few days that you have.

if you only have 9 or 10 days (including travel time) you barely have time for London and the Cotswolds - or - Prague/Amsterdam.

Not time for London/the Cotswolds AND Amsterdam, or Prague/Amsterdam AND anyplace in Germany.

One day getting to Europe, one day getting home, one+ day recovering from jet lag, and at least half a day each time you move. So 9 days is really only about 6 days free on the ground . . .

Whether you choose London and the Cotswolds, London and Amsterdam, or Prague and Amsterdam is up to you -- all are great places to visit.

Thank you for the input. We definitely do not want to have a stressful trip by trying to add too many cities. I think we definitely need to keep it to two with the time that we have. If we do go to London, we will definitely stay in the Cotswolds for some of the time. So our decision will definitely be as my tittle states. Does anyone have any suggestions on London neighborhoods to stay in ? And should we choose Prague/ Amsterdam. how many days would be suggested for either city?

Before anyone can suggest neighborhoods or specific hotels - we'd need to know your budget.

We will be renting a house in Chipping Camden if we go to London/Cotswolds . We are considering an apt/ flat or hotel for London. We would like to be in the $400 a night range or less. Which may be a little low for London. A neighborhood that has some great pubs, coffee shops etc would be nice.
