London Airports

I'll be traveling in October with friends from London to Prague. There are flights from Gatwick and Stansted. Can anyone advise if one is preferable?
Thanks.

Hi Patay - I'd go with the airport which offers the cheaper airfare.

Gatwick takes 30 mins from London Victoria station.

Stansted takes 45 mins from Liverpool St.

Hope this helps ...

Stansted is a little cheaper and I actually like the departure times better. Just didn't know anything about that particular airport.
Thanks.

Stansted is fine as an airport, modernish built in the 1980s - unknown to most of those on the west side of the Atlantic as it isn't a transatlantic hub. It is mainly a low cost flights airport for Europe - home to Ryanair and many others. Airport facilities are good though with a range of shops and restaurants the best of which are not airside

While the Stansted Express is the fastest way to get to the airport, there are other alternatives that cost less. See this link: http://tinyurl.com/qrbro.
