is this a good deal or sahould I book on my own thru another company?

Melissa

I have used www.justairports.com several times. I believe their rates are considerably lower.

Do you want a car to do it, or are you just looking to get to the flat from the airport (as in, is rail an option)?

Just a thought - you are posting a number of questions today, maybe it would be a good idea to list them under one title like "Lots of Questions about my Upcoming London Trip" or something like that.

Gatwick is far out from London so it is not going to be cheap to get into town. You can check various sites such as www.justforairports.com and see how they compare with what the flat manager quotes. I use a car service from Heathrow but that is considerably closer to London then Gatwick.

I will say that for 4 people I am pretty sure it is still cheaper to do a car service with door to door service then Gatwick Express and then a taxi to the flat.

I'm not sure I'd take a car - even if it was cheaper. The drive in from Gatwick is VERY long and through some very congested areas. It will take you easily three times longer by car than the train/cab.

The Gatwick Express often has 4 for the price of 2 specials, and a cab from Victoria to Knightsbridge won't be more than about €10. Even if you can't get a special on the train - it will comeout about the same total price as a car service. I would not look forward to that drive - at all.

I agree with the others that if you use a car service, justairports.com is a good choice. If you decide to go the train-taxi route, you have two choices for getting to Victoria Station, Gatwick Express and Southern Railway. Gatwick Express has an up-to-four-for-the-price-of-two special so your cost would be 28.00 GBP. You can do even better on Southern Railway if you will be traveling after 10:00 on a weekday (anytime on weekends and holidays) by booking DaySave tickets (only available online and must be booked at least seven days in advance). Cost would be 20.00 GBP for all four of you. See this page for the details: www.southernrailway.com/main.php?page_id=189.

You don't have to take the Express, there are normal trains, too. And depending where the hotel is, you may not need a cab (tube or walk, depending). Of course, depends on how much luggage you have.
