London 3 day interary advice

Doing a short layover in London after 2 weeks in Italy with our 14 & 11 girls.
Here's our tentative plan & would love your input on timing and if there's any omissions:

Day 1:
Arrive Gatwick @ noon. Southern line into London.
-Purchase 2 1-day TravelCards @ Victoria Station to allow for 2for1 deals
-Taxi to hotel (Premier Inn-County Hall)
-Planning to hit sites near our hotel:
+Churchill War Rooms
+Walk past Big Ben/Parliament
+London Eye if weather is clear

Day 2
-Arrive for Tower tour @ opening
-St Paul's Cathedral
-Picnic lunch eat on a river cruise
--Afternoon: Britsh Museum/Library
-Quick stop @ King's Crossing for a Harry Potter photo op
-Spend evening near river (Millenium Bridge?)

Day 3
-Westminster Abbey
-Buckingham Palace (catch some of the guard change)
-Bus or tube to Harrod's for a late lunch
-Kid's choice afternoon: do whatever they want
-Catch Wicked @ Apollo Victoria if tickets availabe

We are purposely not doing a lot of museums after being in Italy & we fiugre since a lot of sites are near our hotel, we could be flexible about when we see them.

Suggestions? Better strategy for order?

Day 2 am is VERY crowded - I don;t think you will get to St Paul's until after lunch - since the Tower takes a considerable amount of time to see much

Day 3 - you're lunch won't e late - Changing of hte Guard is in the am and yuor luch at Harrods will be early - not much after noon. (Also do you really want lunch here - quite pricey and nothing special).

I agree Day 2 looks really crowded. My comment would be what days of the week are days 2 and 3? If either day is a Sunday, you won't be able to visit St Pauls or Westminster Abbey unless you go to a service. I didn't realize that neither was open for tours on Sunday when I was planning my own trip to England, and ended up having to switch my itinerary around a bit.

Our Day 2 will be a Wednesday.
Maybe lunch before visiting St Paul's?

On Day 3, we'd just like to see Harrod's, so maybe get lunch nearby or take something to the park to eat?

Is the tkts booth the best bet for same day tickets to Wicked? or can we buy direct from the theatre?

Where are you flying out of?

As the others say, Day two is more than difficult. You will be lucky to be to St Paul's by 2:00 or 2:30 PM. Plan on eating lunch AT the Tower to save time.

On Day three eat IN Harrods. There are so many restaurants inside the store, you can get any sort of food you might want.

We're flying out of Heathrow early on Day 4, so we have 2 full days, plus a half day on arrival.
