Anyone in London 2 April 2011 Interested in a Pub Walk?

Hello everyone,

We had so much fun in November showing a few Fodorites our fav. London pubs in the City we thought we would see if anyone was around Sat 2 April Feb that wanted to come have few drinks, learn some history and enjoy some of the pubs that we love!

So if you are interested, please meet up with us at the London Bridge tube stop, Borough High St West Exit at 2pm on 2 April (and please post here so we know who to expect). We will take you to our 3-4 favourite pubs in the London Bridge/Borough Market area. We plan to spend about 45 mins at each pub, enough for a drink, and then walk to the next. We will likely end around 5-6pm depending on conversation and how quickly we move through the pubs. You can stay as long as you want.

Hope to see some of you there!

This is the weekend I'll be in London! I'd love to join you, however, I'll have two other women with me from Chicago. Would it be all right if I brought my pals or would the group prefer to limit to Fodorites only? I won't be able to commit until after Sat (when the three of us meet to go over our itinerary), but I'd so love to be there.

jamikins - Sounds like fun. I will be in London and will try my best to join you, at least for a portion of the pub crawl. If I don't show up at 2, carry on and party hearty! I may bring my DH if that is OK.

I loved your Paris report. My husband and I will be in London for this from California. We would loved for you to show us the pubs you like. We will be there.

Jamie, when you say west exit, do you mean the the stairs direct to Borough Market, or the lobby bit at the top of the escalators, which brings you out on the other side of the road? There wouldn't be that many people waiting at the latter, if any others at all, whereas the Market side would have a lot of people milling around.

Why dont we say the lobby bit (if I understand you correctly Patrick) so come up the escalators and stay in the station in the lobby part - but dont go up to street level...we will be standing by the stairs up to street level going up to the west side of Borough High Street.

I hope that makes sense. Dont worry we will be in gathering mode and we know Patrick so look for the group of people gathering...

We will be the handsome couple in our 30's...if you go back to our Paris report and look at our pics you will see what Scott looks like...

Yes, good idea, that resolves any potential misunderstandings. The main thing is, DON'T take the exit to the London Bridge mainline station - take the other one to Borough High Street, and look for a couple of cheery Canadians loitering by the stairs.....

Hi jamikins!
Met with my fellow travelers on Saturday and we're all keen to join you and bikerscott but we're concerned we may be tied up with other sightseeing "to-do's" right at 2 p.m. (We're still working out our itinerary.) Will you be able to post the pub-walk plan if we need to join late? Or does the afternoon flow a bit more organically than a schedule allows?

Hello there - why dont I post at least the first pub - we do a drink in each pub, so likley about 45mins at each one. I can post the other pubs as well, but cant say for sure when we will be at each one.

Looking forward to it!

Thanks, jamikins! We'll make that work for us and do our best to join. I'll post closer to date to confirm so you'll know how many to expect.

Hi jamikins et al. I don't post here all that often, but I'll try to make it to the pub walk - I'm an American`(from Chicago) living in London, but I don't get to the London Bridge/Borough area too often. --Jill
