London 2 for 1
Does anyone know if a tube ticket will work for using the London 2 for 1 discount? Or does it have to be a National Rail ticket?
Thanks! |
The 2for1 deals are offered by the train companies to entice us Brits into London. The tube does not take part in this scheme.(Maybe they should!)

New questions... (Maybe)
From what I have heard a Gatwick Express ticket works for this. Is that correct? Also, can you use more then one coupon. For example, there are 6 of us, can I use three coupons and buy six tickets or do I need to have three different folks buy? Thanks! |
On our last visit to London we "discovered" the bus system. We had been big on riding the tube before. As tourists the busses are great. They are cheaper, you can see more of the city rather than popping up like a gopher in different spots. And you don't have to deal with the stairs, escalators, hallways etc.
I know this has nothing to do with 2 for 1 but I just wanted to share. Thanks for listening (reading). |
The Tube tickets worked for us. I also had a Gatwick Express ticket, but they accepted the Tube ticket without blinking an eye. (BTW, I don't believe you can extend the deal to be a 6-for-3.) The info on the 2-for-1 page is a bit thin on the rules.

I think I am just going to print off six vouchers for each place.... line our kids up two by two and give them the cash. That should work!

Have fun!

I had a Gatwick Express ticket, some places wanted to see it, some didn't. But I did read tube tickets worked also.

Does anyone knows, where we can get this voucher for the 2for1 offers? We want to visit London in September of this year.
Thanks! |
Here's the link to a more recent thread with new info about the 2 for 1's

it can't be a tube ticket. it needs to be a NR ticket of some kind. and it ended 31 May i believe.
funnily enough, i bought 2 train tickets we didn't get a chance to use (weather related), but we actually saved more money at a few attractions than the cost of the train tix. |

As the above linked thread mentions, many of the offers have been extended through the summer . . . . . . |
