London - 130 Queensgate Apartments

We are 2 families - 4 adults, 2 teens and a 10 year old going to London in July.

This apartment suits our needs and the price is right.

My questions are:
1. Does anyone have any first habd experience with the apartment or the rental company?

2. Is it a convenient area to stay in?

3. Any experience or suggestions for comparable apartments?

Thanks in advance!

Donna

Sorry, no experience with the apartment, but we have stayed at a hotel on Queensgate and the location is excellent! You are just a short walk from 2 tube ststions, the buses run along Cromwell Rd, and there are many many shops, including groceries, Boots , and lots of restaurants. Not to even mention how close you are to the V&A, and Natural History museums..and Harrod's is just down the road.

This is really the only area we ever stay in when in London, just because it is so convenient.

BTW..that apt looks really good.

I love that neighborhood too, I've stayed at the Gore at 190 Queen's Gate & it's one of my favorite places to stay in London. I do think the tube is a bit of a hike, though, and that can be rough when you've been on your feet all day.

To Jody's list would add proximity to Hyde Park - a great place to stroll, & Kensington Palace.

No personal experience with that location, but have you read the reviews on TripAdvisor? They would cause me some concern:

I didn't realize trip advisor also had reviews on apartments. Thanks for pointing this out.

We are continuing our search.

We stayed in this apartment complex many years ago...it has, if the photos are a true indicator, been considerably spiffed up since then when the hallways were dingy and a bit down-at-heel. However, the location has not changed and we (parents of a then-3 year old) were delighted with it. It felt safe, well-lit, decent stores to pick up groceries for little ones dinner, close (enough) to tube and well-served by a major bus route that turned out to be a great way to see the sights with a small child.

For those prices, I think you can probably do better.
