Loire Valley travel notes
Dear fodories!
Yet another trip our expat family ttok recently; this time we were in Loire Valley. My DH and I loved it 5 years ago and loved it even more this time. But, we took our dearest daughters(7 and 13) for specific purpose to show them beautiful castles... Guess what!? They were not too excited about seeing ANOTHER caste after just one! We still managed to cover quite a lot! Here is our travel notes, just follow the link. Feel free to comment. If you have any questions, email [email protected]. Thank you reading http://burlaki.com/b2evolution/index...2/loire_valley |

Thanks for sharing this with us. We are planning a trip to the Loire next fall and found your report very helpful.
Especially appreciate your notes on each castle and what they have to offer. Great memories for you and your family. |
Thank you, dear friends!

Hi
very enjoyable report. You fit in visits to many more chateaux than I did during my visit of last spring; I can understand why so many of them seemed to run together in your minds. I share your enthusiasm for Chenonceau, though I thought its interior far and away superior, among the ones I saw. I also very much liked our meal at Etape Gourmande. You missed nothing imo by not visiting the "chateau" at Montresor. It was a relatively small private home, dark and crammed with taxidermy and knick knacks--any historical sense had been lost decades, if not centuries ago. Did you like that town? We kept wondering how it got its title as the most beautiful town in the Loire, but maybe we didn't look at the best parts. |
Hey!
Thank you all for your responces! We were at Montresor around 2.p/m and the whole village seems to be empty (like most of the villages we saw). We stoped by the tourist office and they gave us a map to follow. It is very unique and pretty. As soon as I edit my photos, I'll post them. Just check our website in a couple of weeks. Matroskin |
Very nice, Matroskin. We'll be visiting the Loire in April, staying in our first gite. Looking forward to your photos.
elaine, good to see you posting here again! :) |
